Young Artist Theatre

What is YAT?
An immersive and FUN artistic experience, Young Artist Theatre is a summer camp/intensive for children and teens, culminating in a Main Stage Production. Comprised of workshops and classes, alongside stage rehearsals, YAT exposes students to a wide variety of skills such as tap, yoga, physical stage comedy, ballet, stage make-up, improv, and so much more! We believe in creating well rounded performers and we are so excited to offer this one of a kind opportunity.

Camp Dates: June 8-26
Performances: June 26th-28th 
Ages: 12-18
Camp info: Directed by Annie Clark; Instruction by Kristi Pulliam; Choreography and dance technique by LeeAnn King. This camp will be an opportunity for teens to delve deeper into their study of theatre, ballet, jazz, and vocal music. This camp is for strong dancers, vocalists, and actors. Dancers will improve in technique and strength. Students will have the chance to specialize in their focus, and they will also learn more about new concepts as well. This camp will lift all students to a higher level of appreciation for the techniques and best practices in their craft. Come along if you are a beginner or if you have studied your craft for years. Tell all of your friends about this opportunity because you're sure to make new friends, work hard, and create something beautiful for the patrons of Northeast Arkansas.
Plot: It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar – are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

The Wizard of Oz

Camp Dates: July 14-25
Performances: July 24th & 25th
Ages: 7-16
Camp info: Directed by Eleanor Allen Assistant Director and Choreographer, Abi Mason, Music Director, Damon Wright. This camp is a two-week intensive that will have the kids singing, dancing, acting, and having a blast with friends-all while learning more about performance technique and rehearsing a show! Kids get the leads in Young Artist Theatre and will learn some higher concepts of theatre and best practices in dance, including ballet and tap as they participate in technique classes in dance, acting and vocal technique. Every kid will love this camp! And as a plus, students will get a fully immersive experience in all aspects of theatre production.
Plot: Talk about a classic story! Follow Dorothy down the yellow brick road as she encounters a colorful cast of characters we all know and love on her way to meet the great and powerful Oz himself.
